Solid Waste Facility

New Fee Schedule

Attention all Shaftsbury residents, the Selectboard approved the following new fees at the Town’s Solid Waste Facility (Transfer Station). New fees will be assessed for access permits and brush disposal beginning Tuesday September 1, 2008.

Access permits will be required for all Shaftsbury resident vehicles that use the Town’s Solid Waste Facility beginning Thursday October 2nd, 2008.  These new access permits will cost $10.00 per sticker. The change in price of access permit is a result of the increased management fee.

Anyone disposing of brush at the Solid Waste Facility will be charged the equivalent of $5.00 per cubic yard of brush.  The new fee schedule would be as follows: a) large bag of yard trimmings, $0; b) pick-up truck, 2 cu. yards, $10.00; and c) one-ton truck, 4 cu. yards, $20.00. The new fee associated with brush disposal is a result of the high cost of tub grinding brush for disposal.
